This animated video shows you what happens during the pacemaker placement. A battery is placed uder the collar bone, and a wire or lead is placed in the heart through a vein. This device prevents the heart rate from going too low. Bradycardia can cause symptoms of lightheadedness, and dizziness, which a pacemaker can improve. Video courtesy of eMedTV.com
