Description:

What happens during angioplasty. Cardiac cattheterization will first evaluate the arteries, valves and muscle of the heart. Xray dye is used to view on a screen. Angioplasty uses a small balloon, and usually an intracoronary stent to open up the blockage in the heart, restoring normal blood flow to the heart muscle. Video courtesy of eMedTV.com
