Description:

Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction. The most common causes of allergic reactions are peanuts, insect bites, and seafood. Dr. Wyattt Decker and Dr. Ronna Campbell, both emergency medicine physicians at the Mayo Clinic, discuss anaphylaxis and how to treat it. Common symptoms are shortness of breath, facial swelling, nausea, hives, and dizziness. Treatment with epinephrine, commonly and epi pen, can be life saving.

Allergic reactions are scary. Although we well know that people can be allergic to peanuts and seafood, insect bites scare me so much since my skin is so sensitive and my skin gets all red and last time, I had a red line after a bee bite. Should I have epinephrine at my disposal?
