Dr John Dark discusses heart transplant for the treatment of cardiomyopathy. Cardiomyopathy is a weakening of the heart muscle. The most common cause is from ischemia from blockage in the heart arteries, but other causes include viral cardiomyopathy. In people with refractory heart failure-CHF, or fluid build up, on good medicines, some will need a heart transplant.
