MRSA is contagious, however, the people at risk for MRSA usually have decreased immune function. Good hand washing and other hygeine can decrease the transmission of this infection. As a health care worker, I know that MRSA is very contagious. To my understanding, the best way to prevent transmission of this very dangerous infection is good handwashing.
