Skin resurfacing will involve either the use of a laser, or a chemical peel in order to somehow in effect damage the outer layer of the skin. By damaging the outer layer of skin, it allows the more youthful underlying surface of skin to heal in and repopulate the surface, thus giving a smoother, more youthful contour to the outer surface of the skin.
