Tonsillectomy is the most common treatment for sleep-disorder breathing. Having your tonsils out doesn't have to be as painful as in years past. New advancements, such as Coblation are making the recovery quicker. 3/4 of tonsillectomies are performed to removed enlarged tonsils that obstruct a childs ability to breath. Symptoms include restless sleep, snoring, bedwetting, and poor attention at school.

My sons had a tonsillectomy about 2 years ago, he had terrible sleep apnea, and kept us all awake with his snoring. His tonsils and adenoids were both enlarged. Since having a surgical procedure which included tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and tube placement, he is doing much better. The surgery was very quick, we went home after a few hours. Post-op he did great, he barely complained. Nor 2 years after the surgery he has done great, is a great student, and we are pleased that we did the surgery to remove his tonsils.
